Steven Tyler ages backward in Kia Super Bowl ad

When Super Bowl 52 kicks off Sunday, keep an eye out for a time-traveling Steven Tyler.

The Aerosmith screamer shows up in a commercial for Kia Motors. In the ad, which debuted online earlier in the week, the vintage rocker gets into his new Kia Stinger GT and rockets in reverse on a barren racetrack, outpacing his opponent, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi.

As Tyler burns rubber, the years also burn away, setting the clock back to the 1970s, and Aerosmith fans with big hair and high-waisted denim rush the frontman, bringing a smile to his newly wrinkle-free face.

Tyler’s falsetto sings “Dream On” in the background, and the words “feel youthful again” appear on screen. (Baby boomers, it would seem, are the ad’s target demo.) The commercial, scheduled to air in the third quarter of Sunday’s game, concludes with the catch phrase for Kia’s new campaign: “Fueled by Youth, A State of Mind.”
