From Huntington Avenue up Rt. 128 to Beverly, Kurt T. Steinberg is moving from one art school to another. The current executive VP at Mass. College of Art and Design is the new president at Montserrat College of Art.
The Montserrat College of Art board of trustees named the Framingham resident to the post effective July 1. He’s succeeding retiring president Stephen Immerman, who served as president for nine years.
Steinberg, who’s currently finishing his doctoral studies at Northeastern, attended Syracuse University for undergraduate and graduate school.
“I am very excited for the opportunity to serve the Montserrat College of Art community as its next president,” Steinberg said in a statement on the college website. “I look forward to being part of the future of this important institution that is poised for even greater things during its next 50 years. We will continue to inspire and focus on the needs of individual students as they explore their passion for expression.”
