Electro-pop duo Matt and Kim did much more than put on a concert on April 26 at the House of Blues. Famous for their infectious energy, the couple was rarely still on stage, sans a ballad or two. The other 95% — pure unadulterated energy.
Speaking of unadulterated, the theme of the evening matched. Touching on sex, drugs, and a whole lot of R -rated activities, both Matt and Kim were very vocal about being free and uncensored. Also in the audience to hear the vulgarities? The band’s parents, standing in the balcony with blushed faces but big smiles.
The New England natives (Matt is from Vermont and Kim is from Rhode Island) made it a point to play songs from their older albums and only a sprinkling of their new tracks from the May 3 album “Almost Everyday.” In addition to beloved oldies like “Daylight,” they also featured pop culture references like “Barbra Streisand” by Duck Sauce and remixed by Afrojack and “In Da Club” by 50 Cent.
