Big appetites and a hunger for charitable giving were the focus of this weekend’s Big Sister Association of Greater Boston’s annual Celebrity Chef Dinner. Hosted at Benedetto by owners Pam Ralston and Michael Pagliarini, this year’s event featured exclusively female chefs — a first in the 18-year history of the fund-raiser. Among the talented chefs participating were Joanne Chang (Flour Bakery and Myers + Chang), Karen Akunowicz (Myers + Chang), Renae Connolly (Benedetto), Cassie Piuma (Sarma), and Stefanie Bui (Deuxave). Aside from cooking the evening’s meal, the chefs also talked with guests about being a woman in the restaurant business.
